Leonard Automatics recently purchased the first TruMatic 1000 combination punch press/fiber laser machine to be used in the U.S. The TruMatic 1000 is the first machine with advanced manufacturing capabilities, claims Trumpf Inc.
The new machine combines the efficiency and speed of a punch press for holes, punches, and the forming of 3D features, and it automatically taps screw threads – with clever automation within minimal space. The addition of the 3000 watt solid-state fiber optic laser allows the TruMatic 1000 to shift quickly into a high speed fiber optic laser mode to flexibly cut any contour of your choice. The TruMatic 1000 transitions from punching to laser cutting and then back again to punching. The system allows for production of a large part spectrum completely on one machine. “This machine will increase our production efficiency by allowing us to reduce handling time,” says Jeff Frushtick, Chairman of Leonard Automatics. “We are pleased to have the most advanced machine of its kind, to continue to offer modern world leading manufacturing capabilities, and to help contain costs for our customers.”
